Nuffield Sailing Centre - RYA Classroom Based Theory Courses

Congratulations to all our students who have gained Sailing and Powerboat Certificates over the course of the 2017 Summer Season.

It is now time to take your learning further with our Classroom Based Theory Courses.
We are pleased to announce that we are able to host the following RYA courses at our Sailing Centre overlooking the Menai Strait:

First Aid & Marine Radio Short Range Certificate - two and a half days
Essential Navigation & Seamanship Course - 2 days
Basic Sea Survival Certificate - 1 day
Day Skipper Theory Course - 5 days
Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Offshore Theory Course - 5 days
Yachtmaster Ocean Theory Course - 5 days

The following schedule of courses are available for booking now. (Course prices are in brackets and includes the RYA Course Student Pack):
First Aid / Marine Radio Short Range: Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th November (£135 per person)
Day Skipper Theory Course: Monday 6th - Friday 10th November (£250 per person)
Sea Survival Course: Saturday 18th November (£75 per person)
Essential Navigation & Seamanship: Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th November (£125 per person)

First Aid / Marine Radio Short Range: Friday 1st December - Sunday 3rd December (£135 per person)
Day Skipper Theory Course: Monday 4th  - Friday 8th December (£250 per person)
Sea Survival Course: Saturday 9th December (£75 per person)
Essential Navigation & Seamanship: Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th December (£125 per person)

First Aid / Marine Radio Short Range: Friday 19th - Sunday 21st January 2018 (£135 per person)
Day Skipper Theory Course: Monday 22nd - Friday 26th January 2018 (£250 per person)
Sea Survival Course: Saturday 27th January 2018 (£75 per person)

An additional exam fee of £60 payable direct to the RYA is required for the Marine Radio SRC (further details will be available on enquiry/booking)

Course dates for February and March 2018 will be announced in December - please keep an eye on our website for details.

Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Offshore & Yachtmaster Ocean Theory Courses will be scheduled subject to demand and course costs will be confirmed on application.

If you are interested in attending any of these courses, call or email us with your details. 
Some things to consider:

  • The First Aid and VHF Courses are being offered together as a two and a half day package beginning on a Friday evening and continuing over the weekend
  • Accommodation is available (at extra cost) at the Nuffield Centre should you need it with feeding at your own expense
  • Course student numbers are flexible but courses will not run if there are less than four students (Sea Survival - minimum number of students 6)
  • If there is a group of you - let us know - as we can arrange a course specifically for your group
